Michael Glover is a Canadian artist, residing in Northumberland County for much of his life. Though, Michael has spent much of his life travelling around Canada. From coast to coast, Michael find beauty and inspiration in classic Canadian landscapes, but also scenes with a uniquely human touch that we would otherwise overlook in the moment. Scrapyards, heavy machinery, and abandoned infrastructure become musings for Michael, capturing human life in a different way compared to other artists. Michael prefers to travel this beautiful country by land, and through his incredible skill and precision, it is evident that this is the work of somebody who has become intimate with the differing landscapes of Canada; a relationships only countless hours of travel on open highways, and less so, waterways, could produce. Jake Vandenbrink

Lynda Todd

Michael Zarowsky

Lynda Todd is a Canadian multi-award winning artist based in Peterborough, Ontario. Specializing in tactile mixed-media art, “Please Touch” is not a slogan but rather a wholehearted invitation. Being both legally blind and colour blind, Lynda’s work explores accessibility, inclusion, and sensory engagement by challenging traditional gallery conventions. Using layered materials, raised surfaces, texture, and Braille, she creates artwork that can be experienced by a broader range of audiences, including those who are blind, have low vision, or benefit from multi-sensory engagement. Lynda’s artwork is a reminder that art is for everyone, and that art can be felt, seen, and experienced in more ways than traditional means. Her work has been exhibited internationally and featured in galleries, community initiatives, accessibility-focused programming, publications, and the media across Canada. Most recently, she was featured in Costco Connection magazine, distributed nationally to Costco members, and in Grapevine Arts & Culture magazine. Through both her art and advocacy, Lynda champions the belief that accessibility and artistic excellence are not separate goals, but complementary ones, which strives to create more inclusive cultural experiences for all. Lynda says “My work explores how touch can create connection, spark memory, and communicate in ways that words or images alone sometimes cannot. The tactile element is not an addition to the artwork. It is an essential part of both the meaning and the experience.”

Jake Vandenbrink is an Ontario-born, self-taught artist. His love for art and painting began early in his childhood, with his main muse becoming Canadian nature and wildlife as he found himself engrossed in it much of the time. Through many years, Vandenbrink developed his personal style, which is highly distinguishable. With each painting, he wishes the viewer to become “emotionally involved in the scene,” leading him to paint with a careful and deliberate use of colour, lighting, and mood. The strict attention to detail and emotion mirrors his avid conservation efforts, reminding viewers that these landscapes and environments are the only ones we have. His bond with nature is clear, as his paintings are calm and timeless. His distinct style has captured the hearts of many, not only those of Canadians who are closely familiar with his preferred scenes, but internationally as well. His depictions of Canada, perhaps the sights we take for granted, have made their way across international waters, landing in places such as Japan, Dubai, and across Europe.

Michael Zarowsky has always been an artist. With a keen and distinct way of viewing the world creating art was his way of expressing his love for the beauty he saw all around him. He always came back to painting. He experimented with the medium of painting, pushing back against traditional rules and techniques. By creating his own techniques through mixing watercolour and acrylic paints, he continued to progress as an artist as he developed his distinct and beloved style. His paintings are a breath of fresh air, a feeling that is a testament to his process of open-mindedness, willingness, and calmness when he begins a painting. The ability to be so ‘in the moment’ makes each painting a true moment captured in time.

Qing Zhang
